Sock Monkeys!!!!

December 8, 2008

Last week I received some handmade sock monkeys I had ordered from Jessica at Gus and Ollie and I really love them, so I wanted to share this info with my readers! Let me just say..they are SO cute!! Jessica does really great work… each monkey is unique, of excellant quality, and comes in its own little fabric baggie.. and the price is very reasonable too! These monkeys would make great gifts for people of all ages, and I can see myself buying more in the near future :)

I ordered Daryl, Maddison and Oscar…I’ll be keeping Daryl and giving Maddison and Oscar as gifts. I put them all to work yesterday as ‘models’ because the whether was so icky and I wanted to play with my new camera, so here are some fun pics of the gang :)

mollie: those are TOO cute!

New Love

December 7, 2008

Santa came early this year and brought me a new camera!!! I am now the proud owner of a Nikon D700 and I am in LOVE!

My old camera (d70s) served me well for 2 years, and it was great to learn on, but for the past few months, its limitations really started to frustrate me.  The D700 is in a completely different league than the d70s, and will now allow me to shoot in so many conditions that just weren’t possible with the d70s, and and so far I have only gotten a small taste of what it can do, but boy am I impressed!

Old Camera (Ok…so its not quite THIS ancient…but you get the point hehe):

New Camera:

Pavlina Ortiz: Enjoy it! You won't want to put it down, ever! lol I LOVE mine to death.

Busy Busy!

December 3, 2008

Decorations are up, Christmas markets are open, and I am busybusybusy!  All signs that the holiday season has begun! Last week I had the privilege of taking Christmas pictures at one of the international preschools around Munich, which is something I had never done before, but was up for the challenge! 21 kids, ages 2-5…hard work! But oh so much fun! Definitely one of those ‘I love my job’ days! I got to be silly and hang out with some great kids for a few hours!! And the pictures turned out GREAT (I don’t have any model releases, so I can’t share them, unfortunately!!)

Then my sister-in-law and 2yr old niece came to visit from Austria…just in time for Thanksgiving! I love thanksgiving, but am glad its only once a year… cooking and backing for 3 days, and then cleaning up for another 3 takes away from my photography time!

Things are finally settling down, and in less than 2 weeks its off to the US for Christmas with my family!

And just to share some holiday spirit…here are some “Christmasy” pictures for your enjoyment :)

jenny mcmasters: These are too much fun! I adore the family shot! Too cute! ++

Kimmi: Ohhhhh, these are so fun and so cute...... beautiful dog too. Nice work.
